Does SBI SimplyCLICK earn 10X on Amazon?

Amazon is not one of SimplyCLICK's 11 partners, so it earns the 5X online rate under a 10,000-point monthly cap. How SBI's Amazon discount changes that.

No. Amazon is not on the SimplyCLICK’s list of 11 partner merchants, so an Amazon order earns the card’s general online rate of 5X, which is 5 Reward Points per ₹100. That 5X rate stops at 10,000 points a calendar month, and online spend past it earns 1 point per ₹100. The 10X rate applies only at the named partners.

The question comes up because the card is sold as an online shopping card and its joining benefit is a ₹500 Amazon voucher. That voucher is the card’s only tie to Amazon; the partner list in its current record leaves Amazon out.

Where 10X applies, and where 5X takes over

The record lists the 11 partners that earn 10X: Apollo 24x7, BookMyShow, Cleartrip, Dominos, Gyftr, IGP, Myntra, Netmeds, Swiggy, Tata Cliq and Yatra. Spend at those merchants earns 10 points per ₹100, and the record carries no monthly cap on it.

Every other online spend, Amazon included, earns 5X. Offline spend earns the base rate of 1 point per ₹100.

Krediit’s catalog values an SBI Card Reward Point at ₹0.25 on statement credit or the rewards catalogue. At that value 10X is a return of 2.5%, 5X is 1.25%, and the base rate is 0.25%. So an Amazon order on this card returns half of what the same money returns at Myntra or Swiggy.

The monthly cap on 5X

The 5X rate has a ceiling of 10,000 Reward Points per calendar month. At 5 points per ₹100, that ceiling corresponds to about ₹2,00,000 of online spend in a month, or ₹2,500 in points at the catalog value. Online spend past the cap earns 1 point per ₹100 until the next calendar month starts.

Most months do not come near that number. A sale month with a phone, a laptop and a few appliances bought online can. The cap follows the calendar month, not the statement cycle, so two large orders on either side of the first of the month fall under two separate ceilings.

What earns nothing

The record excludes rent, fuel and wallet loads. Its notes add government transactions, digital gaming, cash advances and Flexipay. Utility bills paid on the SBI Card website or app do not earn the 5X online rate either, even though they are paid online.

SBI’s Amazon discount, and what it does to the points

SBI Card is running an instant discount at Amazon from 25 September to the end of 7 October 2026, on select products. SimplyCLICK is one of the eligible cards. The SBI Cashback card, Paytm SBI, Flipkart SBI and corporate cards are not.

The discount is 10%. It needs a single transaction of at least ₹4,990 on mobiles or ₹2,490 in other categories. On a full swipe it stops at ₹1,000 a card on mobiles and ₹1,500 in other categories, and the base discount stops at ₹1,750 a card across the period. One-time bonus discounts apply to larger orders as well, some of them on EMI only.

The offer’s terms add a catch for a points card. Reward points earned on any transaction that took the discount are forfeited, within 120 days of the end of the offer month. If the points balance at that point is too low to cover the forfeit, SBI debits the rupee equivalent to the card.

Take a ₹20,000 order outside mobiles. Without the offer, SimplyCLICK earns 5X on it: 1,000 points, or ₹250 at the catalog value. With the offer, 10% would be ₹2,000, the full-swipe cap trims that to ₹1,500, and the 1,000 points are later taken back. On that order the discount is worth six times the points. It comes out the same way on most eligible orders, because 10% off is larger than 1.25% back.

The forfeit also reaches points that already appeared on a statement. If the discounted order came in the same month as other online spend, the month’s points may later drop by the amount tied to that order. The terms allow for this, so a later drop of that size is the forfeit and not a posting mistake.

The fee, and how the card waives it

The annual fee is ₹499. The renewal fee is reversed on ₹1 lakh of spend in a year. The card also pays a ₹2,000 e-voucher for Cleartrip or Yatra on ₹1 lakh of annual online spend, with a second at ₹2 lakh. Foreign-currency spend carries a 3.5% markup.

What to check on your own statement

Three things on a SimplyCLICK statement show which rate a spend got. First, the merchant name: an Amazon order earns 5X, while a Myntra or Swiggy order is the one that should show 10X. Second, the month’s 5X points: if the total is close to 10,000, the rest of the month’s online spend has already dropped to 1 point per ₹100. Third, after a discounted Amazon order, look for a reward-point debit in the months after the offer ends. A negative points line, or a rupee debit where the balance ran short, is the forfeit.

Krediit carries this record against your own spend, counts the 5X cap for the calendar month as orders come in, and shows the points a discounted order will lose before the statement does.
